Automation Engineer

Develop, test and qualify SW1NGO’s control system using Siemens TIA Portal and WinCC Unified.

Bioscibex is a Swiss company developing SW1NGO, a single-use bioreactor designed to simplify cell culture seed trains through innovative hardware, integrated sensors and automation.


We are looking for an Automation Specialist with hands-on experience in Siemens TIA Portal and WinCC Unified to strengthen our team for six months and contribute to the development, testing and qualification of our control system.


Your role


Working closely with our engineering and cell culture teams, you will:


  • Develop, modify and troubleshoot Siemens PLC software using TIA Portal.

  • Develop and improve HMI screens and functions using WinCC Unified.

  • Implement and test equipment sequences, control loops, alarms and interlocks.

  • Integrate sensors, pumps, mass flow controllers and other equipment.

  • Improve data logging, user management and traceability functions.

  • Support communication interfaces, including OPC UA and Modbus.

  • Perform functional testing and troubleshoot software and hardware integration issues.

  • Document software changes, configurations and test results.

  • Support FAT/SAT and IQ/OQ preparation and execution.


Your profile


  • A qualification in automation, electrical engineering or a related discipline.

  • Practical experience programming Siemens PLCs in TIA Portal, ideally S7-1500 systems.

  • Hands-on experience with WinCC Unified.

  • A good understanding of industrial instrumentation, control systems and communication protocols.

  • A structured approach to troubleshooting, testing and documentation.

  • The ability to work independently while collaborating with a small, multidisciplinary team.

  • Good English communication skills; French is an advantage.


Experience with bioprocess equipment, ISA-88, recipe management, audit trails or GMP requirements would be an advantage.
