Bioscibex ships first SW1NGO bioreactors-incubators

Just a few months after its public unveiling, Bioscibex has reached a major milestone by beginning to deliver SW1NGO to its first customers. With its novel device, the Monthey-based biopharmaceutical startup led by CEO Chloé Albietz is set to disrupt the bioprocess manufacturing industry and help its customers drastically simplify their seed train operations.

Bioscibex has reached an important commercial milestone with the first shipments of SW1NGO, its single-use bioreactor-incubator, to selected customers.

The first systems are being delivered only a few months after SW1NGO was publicly unveiled. These initial paid customer trials will allow early users to evaluate the technology in their own facilities ahead of the official European product launch in June 2026 at the ESACT conference, one of the leading international events for cell culture and bioprocessing professionals.

SW1NGO has been developed to simplify seed train operations in bioprocess manufacturing. In conventional workflows, cells often need to be manually transferred between multiple systems as they grow. Each transfer can add complexity, time, cost, and contamination risk. SW1NGO addresses this challenge by integrating key process steps into a single system, helping biopharma manufacturers streamline operations and reduce manual handling.

Several global biopharmaceutical companies and CDMOs have already validated the system. The first paid trials mark the next stage in SW1NGO’s path toward broader implementation in pilot and manufacturing environments.

“Our objective is to help customers simplify their seed train operations while reducing contamination risk, manual labour, and plastic consumption,” said Chloé Albietz, CEO and Co-founder of Bioscibex. “These first shipments are an important step toward bringing SW1NGO into real customer environments.”

Bioscibex’s initial customers include large biopharmaceutical companies and contract development and manufacturing organisations looking for more efficient, robust, and sustainable ways to manage cell culture expansion.

Following the official European launch at ESACT in June, Bioscibex plans to continue expanding internationally, including a planned entry into the U.S. market in 2027. To support this next phase, the company is strengthening its commercial activities, with a particular focus on sales and customer support.

Based in Monthey, Switzerland, Bioscibex currently has a team of five people focused on customer support, sales, quality, operations, and market readiness. Manufacturing and supply of the company’s equipment and consumables are handled in collaboration with experienced external partners.

An interview with Chloé Albietz is also available on the Venturelab website.
